For those of you muttering to yourself, "Who the hell is Andrea?" the JANE marketing and promotions intern. You betta recognize fool. This week, my slave masters let me out of my fetid cage to write The Chic & The Lowdown. Glorious fresh air! (Actually, everyone here is about as sweet as an Olsen twin dipped in chocolate.) Aside from my internship, 'm a senior at New York University, where I dabble in the art of procrastination and, occasionally, communications. My hobbies include studying philosophy and reading to the blind. Okay, that's a lie. Usually, 'm sprawled out on my futon watching The Anna Nicole Show and downing potato chips. (I love a good train wreck). But, enough about me! It's time to start stocking up on cranberry sauce, gift-wrap and cold medicine, because winter and the holidays are approaching fast. If you decided to host your own party and realized you're in way over your head, relaxbecause JANE is here to save you from a mental breakdown. Picking a great wine is crucial to your party's success, because, frankly, Alabama Slammers and turkey gravy don't mix. "But Andrea," you say, "The only wine I drink comes in a cardboard box." Don't fret. We've done the hard work for you and picked Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2002 as our favorite winefor casual or swanky get-togethers. A few glasses of this unpretentious nectar of the gods will help you forget how incredibly annoying your family is and how awful your cooking tastes. Plus, you can laugh at your guests when they mispronounce "Georges Dubeouf Beaujolais Nouveau." Take a look at this week's "parties to be seen at" to find out where the Du It with JANE event nearest you is going down. You'll get to taste the Beaujolais for yourself and chow down on tasty hors d'oeuvres. |
